The Sabres are holding a rookie camp starting today. I was doing a little reasearch to take my mind off our lack of action and I came across this little video:
TJ BrennanPretty good for a defenseman. Then again, it was at a junior league level...Will he play for the Amerks this year, or get sent back to his team (Fog Devils?)

He can't play in the AHL yet. It's either he sticks with the Sabres (not gonna happen) or he goes back to the Q.

He can skate shoot and score and loves to go end to end. Plus he throws in some big hits and a fight now and then. What more could you ask for from offensive defensemen.

To be responsible in his own end?

I used to live in Buffalo but moved to NJ... I know some kids who went to HS with T.J and said "No lie the kid is amazing"
I have yet to be impressed by what I have seen on youtube but who knows... Im still excited about Tim Kennedy.
His Coast to Coast on you tube is one of the most amazing goals I have ever seen.

TJ was named the "Q" defensive player of the week for last week. He had a solid week

No. Rochester first. It's how Darcy operates.

I hope he changes the way he operates because TJ can make a difference. He is offensive plus he is physical, that seems like a good combo to me.

that team will be named this week. he attended the camp. it seems they are high on the USA develepmental team players. TJ went to the Q to play his jrs. Lets hope they take TJ it would help his development & exposure. He had a pair of pp goals tonight.

Well from what I heard in the 1st intermission between Montreal and Detroit, TJ never made it on defense for the US world junior team.

Maybe next year....they took primarily college kids and usa develp players. not a single player that is in quebec. just like anyteam politics come into play im sure.
he's a talent and continues to work hard!

when he works on his d-game he will be good enough to play in the AHL. he is already offenceive minded, he just needs to work on his defence. (he even said so himself)

Bump my own thread!
Question:
Will this guy play in Portland this year? If so I'm excited to see what happens over there.
I'm kind of sad we arn't affiliated with Rochester anymore. It would have been a shorter drive to watch all of our great new prospects.

I really hope his guy works out because we need a nice offensive defensemen now that Soupy is gone. The guy has some great offensive skills.

I really hope so, he has a lot of raw talent and needs to move out of Junior to get that experience at a higher level.

I believe if he doesnt make the sabres this year then he has to return to his junior team for one more year. But at the end of his junior season next year he can sign with Portland and finish the year.

You generally don't want two offensive minded individuals on the same line. However, if they all pan out like they're supposed to, I like our future Defensive corps. Sekera+Weber for one line, and Brennan+Myers on another. Like I said they'd all have to pan out like they're supposed to, but if they do. Watch out, that is some intimidating and impressive top 2 defensive lines.

He had a cool interview on Howard Simon today...unfortunately he probably will go back to junior since he isn't old enough to play in the AHL.

my worry with TJ is that he plays very much offensively minded or at least he did at the prospect camp.

An offensively minded d-man isn't a bad thing as long as he remembers what his primary function is coughdefensecough and as long as you have him paired with a more defensive minded partner.

I hope the kid thinks he is the next Bobby Orr and moves up on the play like a super soupy would do. Shoot and score. Life is too short for a defensemen to just sit back and pick his nose near the goalie all night.
