Now what would be really awesome is if the Colorado Eagles got promoted to the AHL as the 30th team (since they kill everyone in the CHL every year) and the Eagles were the affiliate for the Sabres.

They were actually talking about this a few years ago when the Avs were looking for a new affiliate, but now they have Lake Erie. The only problem is the Budweiser Event Center (in Loveland, CO) is a bit small for an AHL team. If they upgraded it though, I think it would work very well. Heck, maybe the Sabres could even just take Lake Erie and the Avs would take the Eagles, that way they are closer for each team. It would be sweet to be able to go watch Sabres prospects just right up the highway!

I would also think a team in Niagara Falls or around the area would work as well. Why not just call the team the Niagara Falls? Just an idea.
