old school sabres

While still in my search for the old school, neck tie jerseys I have come into a dilemma.
The man rules make a good point that a throwback should be a HOF'er and/or Stanley cup year jersey. It kind of limits my options.
Hopefully the 3rd option next season will bring back the tie and make it easier.
My Front runner right now is the white, winter classic, Vanek jersey.
I want to get a player who will be long lasting, as an added bonus '26' is my hockey number. Problem is i dont want to be one out of 2 million that have the same jersey, but i see no other option, the things arent cheap
Man rules:
There have a been a couple lists and i'm trying to remember the highlights(feel free to add), It's all for fun btw
- Once the player leaves your team the Jersey should not be warn again till they make the HOF
- Throwbacks should be from a players championship year or at the very least a HOF'er
- There are no exceptions to owning a jersey of a current player just because they're good; ex: Crosby
- It's not ok to wear other teams apparel to the game you are attending(example, Bills jersey to Sabres game); Exception's are the rare Bills game at 1/Sabres game at 7 Sundays and you're going from one game to another, or a famous sports player is being honored, example Jim Kelly(years ago).
- Personalized jerseys are lame unless the player has your last name in which case the top 3 rules are waved.
- Must be team colors- other colors like pink is for chicks
- All Star jersey's limited to a player from your team during that year or HOF'er
- Olympics is limited to your home country, current player from your team, or HOF'er

I read somewhere that the NHL was bringing them back next year, this year had something to do with Reebok i think.

Yea, it's all over the place. Bruins are test-driving designs for the public, NHL Tournament of Logos has rumor watch on full alert, and everyone is abuzz.

who cares? this thread is so ridiculous that it makes me want to buy a pink jersey. actually, i'll make a buffalo sabres leotard and affix brian campbell's number to the back as a tribute to my loathing of elitist machismo.
but i do appreciate the attempt at updating everyone in the latest in hockey pseudo fashions.

tell me if these rules are any better.
1) Never tuck it in
2) Never roll up your sleeves, if you have to, take it off.
3) Wear it as a throw over, never as just a shirt.
4) Never wear "silly" jerseys (ie. batman, star wars, etc) in public
5) If you have them customized, make sure they are done right
6) Be able to back up comments about your jersey. know something about the team/player
all the rules about not getting your own name on the back and stuff like that is dumb. under those rules i couldnt get a Tim Horton jersey. i do however think it would be retarded to get something like a Gil Perrault current jersey.

I still wear my Biron Jersery from last year, whenever they play. Meaning I've got it on right now.

What do you mean by "no exceptions" to wearing a current player's jersey just because they're good; does it mean that I'm breaking the rules by wearing my Ovechkin capitals jersey *just because* he's scored 62 goals this season?
