Another thing I notice is the name calling done buy a Noobie just because some other member basiclly said they where tired of hearing about it too! If the mods won't do something about it I will. In the form of having the uniform page removed as a subsection by the webmaster.

Please give me a list of topics I can't consider. The 'slug' is directly responsible for the Sabres swoon and they will remain out of the playoffs until its changed. Dr. Freud tells me its in their psyche doing considerable damage.

People tend to pick at zits until they go away. The curent logo is like a zit; ugly, and embarassing. Hopefully it will go away sooner rather than later.........

I don't blame people for complaining; it is so bad as to be a major blemish on the face of the Buffalo Sports scene.

Pants that's where I think you're wrong. The webmaster, from what I've heard, did in fact want to get rid of the Uniform section.

Totally agree with you. The logo isn't changing guys, and Quinn isn't going anywhere. No point in arguing about it.

The reason this forum is around
Is to keep all the comments about the logo and uniforms
out of the Sabres Forum.

I believe the Uniforms forum should be kept open.

Quinn will not bring Buffalo a Stanley Cup either so let's stop arguing about his competency as Darcy's string puller in other threads too.

I don't even know your opionion on the logo from your comment. If you hate it, something can be done about it. If you like it, keep buying it. Change isn't gonig to happen overnight and there are NHL restrictions on the uniforms as far as time is concerned. That doesn't mean we just have stand around like cattle and get milked the whole time, that is udder (pun intended) complancency.

It's a sports team. It isn't some governmental operation where, if you have blue pants and a purple shirt with an orange tie, people will think you're unprofessional. Seriously, the only representation I need from anybody is the players playing, not how they look in their outfits.

The way I look at it is this- I love the Sabres and support the team. I'm not afraid to wear my [slugless] Sabres shirts/hats/jackets/etc. wherever I travel. But is it too much to ask to have the team gear not emblazened with an embarassing cartoonish logo?

I think not. Until the team figures out that there are lot lot of folks out there that refuse to buy into this silly thing, they'll miss our sales while we voice our complaints.

Sitting idly by and refusing to acknowledge that there is a large base of fans who dislike the current logo is not a very good answer. As others have said, if you don't like these threads, ignore them.

I doubt the webmaster cares what is posted in here and would encourage the freedom of fans to voice their opinions in a calm and collected manner without insulting others because you disagree with their views.

Short story:
I was wearing one of the 'concept' jerseys while waiting for my g/f to deposit a check and a random woman approached me exclaiming "That's my jersey!" She proceeded to ask where I bought it and talked about how it was exactly what she wanted. It isn't just a one time occurance either. Co-workers, and other random people will take a second look at the 'concept' jersey and immediately strike up a conversation about how 'neat' it is and how it is how the new one should have looked.

There is a contingent out there that is still bent on ignoring the current logo and the forum is just another way to get the word out. To each there own.

I agree. It's a brutal way to bring the argument to the table by slinging insults and suggesting diminished intelligence if you bought the current merchandise...That is a foolish way to treat and address people. I'm more in line with what Netminder has to say below.

By starting a new thread about No More Logo Threads you've just, ironically, created a logo thread.

If you don't want to hear about getting a new logo, then don't visit the Uniforms forum because that's all the forum is for - uniforms. And 99.9% of the time, chatting about unis consists of slamming the slug.

If you don't want to see it, don't go to the forum. If you want to continue the age old discussion about the slug, go right ahead while the rest of the world moves on.

I remember us discussing this when I was a Mod. When we asked ourselves where this stuff would end up if this sub-forum was done away with, the answer was simple. The uni forum lives on.

Maybe Mods could give consideration to splitting the category into two topics. The logo debate, seperated and made its own mini category. I'm on other forums where there are well over 4 main topics, with many more "sub-forums" within topics.

Honestly, I think it's just a breeding ground for contempt.
There is already an entire other signature forum to voice our displeasure.

By leaving this here, we have two choices:

Get rid of it and run the risk of all the continuing logo debate end up in Sabres hockey
OR
Eliminate the need altogether for those to b itch 24-7 forever and ever amen.

This sub-category is as useless as archiving GDT's.

Daschuck, I'm sure you can provide the link to the petition thread. I know that when I signed it over one year ago, I was already #10,000 something.

If it wasn't for the continuing old/new logo debate, then uni's don't really need to be another category. If anyone wants to discuss NHL uni's it can go in NHL talk.

If we can get rid of sub-forums like this one, let GDT's drop off into hockey or NHL and not archive them, then maybe we'd have some bandwidth for pics in sigs or the ability to post vid's in posts instead of links.
