Ewww...those really aren't that good. The only thing that's good about it are the crossed Sabres.

Not feeling those jerseys. The buffalo looks strange. I don't like the idea of revamping the old logo. Just leave it as it is. It's a great logo that does not need any modifcation.
End The Curse
Looks more like a sick Wildebeast.

Fellas, you got to read the write up!

"They are the Gordon's Sabres who represent Gordon's, a great looking watering hole on Delaware Ave in Buffalo."

They are the jersey's of a Senior league team where the bar is their sponsor and the slim buffalo standing the other way is the bar's logo...and the "G" as well.

Nope - What you all said: Sickly buffalo/gnu/wildebeast...navy blue doesn't cut it. The originals need to stay "original".

And before I read the write-up I thought the silver "G" was for "Golisano" - Hahahaha.
sabresfan926
ehh. there ok. i wouldn't want them to consider these. I say we go back to the goathead

Navy Blue will be the color of the Vintage jerseys next season. They will be matched to the same color blue on the current slug jersey...why? The best I could find out is that they claim the royal blue shows "inconsistencies in the fabric stock" That was quoted from Larry Quinn. My guess is because of HDTV, that sort of thing will become apparent watching games more so than it did back in the day.

Otherwise, the inconsistencies thing could be a crock of crap and they have no real good reason for doing it. And really, why did they put numbers on the front of the vintage jersesy too. Granted I don't mind it, but it takes away from the "authenticity" of the jersey and why they brought it back in the first place. I mind that.

But at least get ready for Navy Blue. The gold I agree, doesn't work, but it was neat looking at those jerseys to get a good idea about it. I hate the gold Pittsburgh uses, they should go to a regular yellow like they used to have.

I don't think that the organization was going for "authenticity" when they "retroized" the old royal blue jerseys.
