You guys think the Sabres will get a 40th anniversary patch? Maybe the allstar game with our date?
There might not be an All-Star game because of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Nah I don't think they'd do a patch for the 40th. They didn't in the '99-'00 season for the 30th. The only patch they wore was the league wide "NHL 2000" with the letters in each of the zeros and had a hockey stick border. Here's an image of the logo 
Where would it go on the slug uniforms though? Even the modernized original uniforms, our jerseys would look so crowded with the number on the front, possible C/A, and this patch.
They need a patch saying: (Thanks Quinn for ruining the best logo in the NHL)
