Do any of you have superstitions when you where your favorite teams apparel? Like do you think that if you wear something, your team will play better or worse? This thread is for you, the fan, to tell the rest of us your superstitious story.

Starting off, I have a Thomas Vanek jersey. The first 6 games I wore it, the Sabres lost every single game. Then, I wore it to a game. It was preseason, but we won it. I went to two regular season games last year, both against Tampa Bay. Vanek got a hat trick in both of them. I think that's pretty odd, but probably just coincidence. Oh, well. We all have our superstitious moments.

The only jersey I own is an 06-07 Biron Slug Jersey. I realized he was going to be gone at the end of the season (wouldn't have figured he would be traded) so I wanted to get a Sabres jersey of his before he was gone. I still wear it during every game I watch, and even if I can't watch the game, I wear it on game day. But I refuse to wear it when we face the Flyers. That same part goes for the Drury T-shirt I own, I'll wear it during games...non-game days...but if we're facing the Rangers. It stays in the drawer or the hamper.

I have a replica original sabres home jersey, white with the laces.

I wore it to a home game against the Bruins (1/30/07) - Sabres won 7-1, Briere got a hat trick

Then I had it customized, Taro Tsujimoto - #74, exactly like a 1974 jersey would have been...

I wore it to a game in Pittsburgh (3/13/07) - Sabres lost in a shootout
I wore it to a game in Boston (11/1/07) - Sabres lost in overtime
I wore it to the Winter Classic (1/1/08) - Sabres lost in a shootout

I will never wear it again, when I finally find another (non-customized) replica with the laces I will buy it and sell the one that I have.

I just wear my jersey every game.

Every year that the Sabres make the playoffs I buy a current Sabres' ball cap and wear it whenever I'm awake (...and not in the shower) - Until they lose a game. Once they've lost I retire it, never to wear it again.

They get pretty ratty, very fast - Combined with the playoff beard, I look like some goofy homeless person.

I tend to wear my Hockey Night in Canada ball cap, during the regular season - Especially on the days when the Sabres need a win over a division rival.

Other than that I never wear any Sabres' apparel. Hated the "Goathead", can't stand the "Slug"...I do have a "lucky" Ray Bourque Bruins' #77 that I break out, on occasion.

Oh, man I would love one of those. The Bruins jersey is one of the prettiest in all sports as far as I am concerned and Ray Bourque was a great player (and a good guy). When I was a kid (before Buffalo got a team) I was a Bruins fans and I still have a soft spot in my heart for them. Plus, when my dad used to race motorcycles his number was 77.

I'm very superstitious about jerseys. First jersey I bought was a the goat head white right before the 1998-1999 season started and they went to the finals. I bought a throwback Drury in 2007 and they won the President's Trophy. I got a slug white last summer and they missed the playoffs in '07-'08. I recently bought a vintage blue & gold white, I hoping for a positive result this year *knock on wood*.

Losing Streak and I want them to snap it : I wear my green little league shirt (lucky shirt) with my slug beanie
Winning Streak : Roy Jersey with retro beanie .
Shootout. : I quickly change my hat to the black satanic goat logo beanie..
And in between where we have just snapped a losing streak and haven't got on a winning streak I wear my Afinogenov shirt

All Games MUST have gobstoppers on the middle table for all guests to reach, and the occassional toss to my dog. No game feels right without gobstoppers, and the occassional homemade Gatorade, Kool-Aid, Powerade Icee.

Apparrel wise, i keep my hat near by for OT/SO

All games I must have a beer between periods......

LMAO! Must be part of the aging process! I guess also the disintegrating wax cups they used to use served as an incentive to finish your beverage prior to the cup imploding!!

My drinking has been diminished not so much by desire as it has by age......

Home games i wear one of my jerseys...away i wear a sabres shirt. Just got a white sabres vintage Perrault jersey and then the sabres anounce that they are going to have a 3rd jersey with a modern original jersey...i hope its the same as the old ones and by modernization of the old jerseys it means a RBK EDGE or just a number on the front.

I hear ya. The reality is I'm good for one or two beers during a Sabres game (at most).

You must not come here a lot. The logo will be updated with silver lining, and the jersey will be navy blue instead of royal blue.

I wear my jersey to every game that I go to. I have a blue Stafford.

If it's a school day, I'll wear the jersey to school. I've also worn it a few times the day after a big win.

Once I wore my Stafford jersey to school and he busted his shoulder the night before and everyone was like, "OMGZ YU KNO HE GOT HURT WRITE???!?"

I wear the corresponding jersey to the team whether they are home or away, not just for the Sabres, though. Also I usually wear a jersey to school after a big game.

I would wear it the day of the game, haha.

I have my blue slug jersey no player on it, I have my white goat jersey with Hasek on it and I just got a red alternate jersey on ebay.

For games I usually just go with both jerseys depending on which one I feel like wearing or if Im going out somewhere, the white one i tend to wear more at home so things dont get spilled on it haha. The red one will also be worn this year until I get the new alternate jersey.

I also wear my Briere tshirt or Vanek shirt, depends on the game, and if its not against the flyers for the Briere one.

I have a few strange superstitions for game night but only part of it is apparel. I have a home and away slug jersey which I wear on the respective nights. I also have a white sabres hat for the away jersey and a dark Vanek hat for the home games. I wear my Vanek or Miller t-shirt as well, alternating games. Since I don't have a 3rd jersey, I wear my goathead jersey on those days that the Sabres wear theirs as well as a goathead hat. I make it a point to pick one game a month and wear my vintage white jersey during that game (again with the hat) wearing a yellow Sabres hat with it.

The rest involves having my Sabres hockey cards open to a playing I think is going to havea good night and other things like that.

No jerseys on non-game days. For ANYONE. I get mad if I see someone wearing a jersey and we're not playing. hahah.

None really, I have my blue slug Hecht jersey and the white old jersey with Ruff. I usually just alternate with those ones and hope for the best. I do wear a black long sleeve "goat" shirt underneath though...

I don't wear apparel during games all I do is ###### about the refs and if guys don't try hard.
