Reports are popping up all over the place that Larry Quinn stated that they are looking into making the original logo their primary again to correspond with their 40th!!
Quinn confirmed that the team is in talks to potentially make the 3rds our PRIMARY jersey for 2010-11, which will be the 40th anniversary year. he said the current slug jersey may be a 3rd jersey.

Well, apparently he said it while on Schopp and the Bulldog on 550. If that's not credible, I don't know what is. I'd check the audio vault on the station's site.

The goat head in blue and gold. That would not be a bad third jersey. But if we really need a third I would chose the Red jersey with just the crossed Sabres and change the colors to blue and gold, but that's just crazy talk...... or is it?

I love the idea of our third being the current jersey, but bringing back the royal blue instead. Swap out the Slug on the chest for the re-colorized Crossed Sabres, and put a re-colorized Goathead on the shoulders. Leave the chest numbers, too. THAT'D be an epic jersey

Not surprising...

I mean, the logo's at Center Ice... Come on. If that's not, "Heads up, fans!" I don't know what is.

I find it amusing that people complain that their slug jersey would become obsolete if the team returns to the real logo.

I would never buy a jersey that I don't think looks good. I never even considered the slug jersey, and I was lukewarm to the buffalo head jerseys.

I would still wear my original jersey if it still fit, er; it hadn't shrunk on me years ago.

If you find a jersey you like, wear it, and be proud of it; whether it is current or not. I would not suggest purchasing anything you don't like; because if it goes out of style a la the slug, all you are left with is something you don't like, and is of no relevence.

Hoping the slug gets salted as soon as possible.......

People complain about the fact that the logo is changed so often, but every time the logo changes they tell me how I should support my team by buying the new jersey. It's ironic really, if you want it to stop changing then stop buying the new jerseys!

Anyways I hope to god that this is true because the slug looks plain stupid.

It would be a decent logo for a third jersey; after the real logo has been re estrablished on the two primary jerseys.

I think we all can see the handwriting on the wall for the Slug. The original logo is back to stay with the deeper blue update of the original jersey. Look for an updated original white to be introduced next season, and the slug to be 3rd jersey or extinct by 2010-11.

FYI Penquins Winter Classic is now their 3rd. It is flying off the shelves. Perhaps we could get the Winter Classic Jersey (with the neck ties) as our white version FULL TIME

Also the winter classic jersey had a better shoulder yoke..that is the blue on the shoulders stayed on the shoulders and didn't go down the arms..like the replica V-Neck version they sell now.
